UN Inquiry Declares Israel’s War on Gaza as Genocide, Names Top Leadership

UNITED NATIONS, Sept 16: A landmark United Nations inquiry has officially declared that Israel’s war on Gaza constitutes genocide, directly naming Israel’s top leadership as responsible.

Navi Pillay, chairwoman of the UN Commission of Inquiry, confirmed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and President Isaac Herzog bear responsibility for actions that led to mass civilian killings and widespread destruction in Gaza.

The report highlights that official statements and commands from Israeli leaders demonstrate genocidal intent, placing the State of Israel in violation of international law. This historic finding comes nearly two years into the conflict and marks the strongest international condemnation of Israel’s conduct in Gaza to date.
