UAE Warns Israel Over Annexation Plans

ABU DHABI, September 18, 2025 — The United Arab Emirates has warned that it could scale back diplomatic ties with Israel if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government proceeds with annexing parts of the occupied West Bank.

Such a move, officials said, would undermine the normalization process launched in 2020 under the Abraham Accords and could prompt other Arab states, including Bahrain, to reconsider their stance. The UAE joined the accords to halt annexation, and any violation may force Abu Dhabi to revise its foreign policy commitments.
