Three Members of Christian Family Found Murdered in Islamabad’s Rimsha Colony

ISLAMABAD, September 11, 2025 — Police in Islamabad have recovered the bodies of three members of a Christian family from their locked home in Rimsha Colony, nearly two weeks after the killings took place. The victims were identified as Akram Paul, 42, his son Shabbir, 18, and daughter Neha, 15.

The decomposed bodies were discovered after neighbours alerted authorities to a foul smell coming from the house. Investigators said the victims’ hands appeared to have been tied, and a motorcycle belonging to the family was missing. Police confirmed that the crime scene was sealed and forensics teams had been deployed.

The motive remains unclear, and no arrests have been made. The murders have sent shockwaves through Rimsha Colony, a community with a troubled history that drew international attention in 2012 after a blasphemy case forced many Christian families to flee. Residents continue to live in harsh conditions with poor infrastructure and limited basic services, and the killings have renewed calls for greater protection of vulnerable minority communities.
