PTI Senators Resign from Committees on Imran Khan’s Orders
ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: In a major political development, 17 senators from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have resigned from Senate standing committees on the instructions of incarcerated party founder Imran Khan.
Senator Ali Zafar confirmed that the resignations were compiled, verified, and submitted to the Senate Secretariat. He clarified that the move is a form of protest rather than disruption, noting that the committees will continue to function in PTI’s absence.
The resignations highlight PTI’s continued defiance, with members following Khan’s directives despite his imprisonment.
