UTAH, September 10, 2025 — Conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while addressing students at Utah Valley University.
Police confirmed Kirk, 31, died at the scene after multiple gunshots were fired during his lecture. A 29-year-old suspect was arrested, though investigators have not disclosed a motive. The FBI has joined local police in probing whether the attack was politically motivated.
Kirk was known as a staunch defender of conservative values and the U.S. Constitution. His outspoken defense of the Second Amendment often drew controversy, including a past remark that gun deaths were “unfortunately” worth the cost of preserving firearm rights.
His death has reignited debates on gun control and political violence. Former President Donald Trump announced Kirk would be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously, calling him “a fearless defender of America.”
