Rawalpindi police arrested the principal of a private academy in Pir Wadhai after a student accused him of repeatedly raping her on false promises of marriage. She stated that he assaulted her on May 21, later discovered she was pregnant, and was secretly given abortion medicines by him. An FIR was filed under sections 376 (rape) and 338a (illegal abortion). The student’s medical tests have started. Federal Minister for Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar has ordered a transparent inquiry and demanded swift justice for the victim.
