PCB Removes Usman Wahla Over Handshake Controversy

LAHORE, September 15, 2025 — In a shocking twist to the Asia Cup 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has removed its Director of International Cricket, Usman Wahla, over delayed action in filing a protest against the controversial handshake incident. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has lodged an official complaint with the ICC and MCC, accusing match referee Andy Pycroft of breaching protocol by instructing Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands at the toss.

Pakistan has now demanded Pycroft’s removal, warning of a possible boycott if the ICC fails to act. The controversy, fueled further by Indian players’ refusal to shake hands, has sparked global debate over sportsmanship, fairness, and respect in the gentleman’s game.
