Israel Strikes Hodeidah: Dozens Killed as Red Sea Tensions Escalate

Israel has carried out a series of airstrikes on Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, killing dozens of civilians and targeting three key docks, according to Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV. The attack, which lasted around 10 minutes, comes as part of Israel’s ongoing campaign against the Houthis, who have launched drone and missile strikes on Israel in solidarity with Gaza. Residents reported widespread damage as Israeli strikes hit vital infrastructure, including power stations and civilian areas. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz warned that the Houthis will “continue to suffer blows” if they keep targeting Israel. The strikes follow the assassination of Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and several cabinet members in Sanaa last month, fueling vows of revenge from Houthi leadership. Tensions in the region remain high as both sides escalate attacks, raising fears of a wider war in the Red Sea.
