Five Security Personnel Martyred in Kech IED Attack

QUETTA, Sept 15: In a tragic incident on Monday, five security personnel, including an officer, were martyred when militants detonated a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) in Balochistan’s Kech district.

According to official sources, the IED was planted in the Mand area, near the Pak-Iran border, and targeted a vehicle moving between tehsil Dashat and Mand. The blast completely destroyed the vehicle, killing all five personnel onboard.

Authorities identified the martyred officer as Captain Waqir Kakar, while security forces have since cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators.

The attack underscores the continued security challenges in Balochistan, where militants have carried out repeated assaults on security forces and infrastructure in recent years.
