CM Maryam Nawaz Launches Electric Bus Service, Announces Flood Aid

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated the province’s first electric bus service in Wazirabad, calling it a “gift for the people.” The service connects Gujranwala to Wazirabad at just Rs 20, while women, students, and senior citizens can ride for free.

Maryam also announced sweeping flood relief measures: Rs 1 million for families whose homes were destroyed and Rs 500,000 for partially damaged homes. She vowed to fully compensate flood victims and emphasized that her government is “on the ground” with citizens.

The CM expressed sorrow over 100 lives lost but credited timely evacuations for preventing greater tragedy. She highlighted that livestock and livelihoods were also saved during rescue operations.
