Ishaq Dar and Egyptian FM Discuss Defense Pact, Regional Stability
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — September 19, 2025 — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty to discuss the recently signed Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement. Abdelatty congratulated both nations, calling the deal a “milestone” for regional security and cooperation.
The two leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional issues, including the Gaza conflict and Gulf security tensions. Both emphasized the importance of multilateralism, dialogue, and economic cooperation to safeguard regional peace. They also agreed to continue consultations ahead of the upcoming 80th United Nations General Assembly session, where both Pakistan and Egypt are expected to push for stronger international action on Palestine and broader Middle Eastern stability.
