Pakistan Players Slip in ICC Rankings After Asia Cup Defeat

Pakistan’s cricketers faced a mixed outcome in the latest ICC Men’s T20I rankings following their heavy loss to India in the Asia Cup 2025.

On the batting side, skipper Babar Azam slipped two spots to 26th but remains the country’s top-ranked batter. Mohammad Rizwan fell to 33rd, Saim Ayub tumbled to 46th after multiple ducks, while Salman Ali Agha and Fakhar Zaman also dropped positions. Sahibzada Farhan was the only positive, climbing 18 spots to 56th.

Among bowlers, Pakistan’s spinners kept hopes alive — Sufiyan Muqeem rose to 11th, and Abrar Ahmed reached 16th, strengthening the team’s spin attack profile.

The update highlights Pakistan’s ongoing struggle with batting consistency while reaffirming spin as a key strength.
