France Deploys Rafale Jets to Poland Amid Rising Russian Drone Threats

WARSAW, September 12, 2025 — France has deployed three Rafale fighter jets to Poland to bolster the protection of its airspace following a series of drone incursions linked to Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.

Poland’s defense ministry confirmed the deployment, saying the move was coordinated with NATO after hostile aerial objects were intercepted earlier in the week. This marked the first time NATO aircraft have actively engaged during the conflict, underscoring growing concerns over the war spilling into neighboring territories.

French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that European security remains a top priority and vowed that Europe would not bow to Russian intimidation. The deployment highlights NATO’s increasing readiness to counter threats as Russia’s strikes increasingly test the defenses of countries bordering Ukraine.
